Graça Favorita is a residential project that stands out for its location in Lisbon and for its size. The site was occupied by a famous chocolate factory, closed down in the late 80s, early 90s. Situated north of the Graça neighborhood and west of the Sapadores Market, it is developed on a nearly 7,000 m2 land (and over 9,000 m2 of gross area for potential construction). With only 90 apartments built, the site offers a lot of space to the residents and a public viewpoint that offers a privileged view over the city of Lisbon and the Tagus River.
The landscape design takes advantage of the legacy of the site: the remaining walls of the factory but also its story, are the starting point of the overall concept that include chocolate bar inspired benches.
The public, commercial and private common areas are part of the same project and are treated together as a whole. These areas are interrelated and this maximizes the open space and the natural feeling.
Anywhere on the site, in both private and public zones, the residents and the visitors are put in a privileged position that reveal new facettes of Lisbon.
