Our studies to create a mangrove park in Tra Vinh province (MekongDelta, Vietnam), focus on sustainability and regeneration, in collaboration with MangLub Vietnam. The park can also serve as a tourist attraction, a place to organize students’ field trips to learn about ecology and plant mangroves by themselves.
Riparianforest buffers can deliver a number of benefits including filtering nutrients, pesticides, and animal waste from agricultural land runoff; stabilizing eroding banks; filtering sediment from runoff; providing shade, shelter, and food for fish, among many others.
At Manglub, a walking path connects various functional areas throughout Nang Islet, such as the camping sites where tourists can join in furniture-building activities with locals and students. There are also learning stations providing insights into the diverse mangrove ecosystem. The peaceful atmosphere and refreshing weather create opportunities for relaxation and reflection amidst the untouched scenery. Exploring the river area offers an exhilarating and genuine connection with nature.
Here, tourists can enjoy entertaining and educational activities designed to encourage community appreciation for mangrove forests and discourage their conversion into production forests. Moreover, taking in the breathtaking mangrove coastline from observation points offers a tranquil and soothing experience, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
